We are thrilled to announce that earlier this year, Vesiro was awarded a grant from Sweden's Innovation Agency Vinnova for the continuous development and testing of our innovative database software, with the goal of applying it for AI solutions. This project could represent a significant step towards potentially more efficient and scalable AI solutions.

As part of the project, RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) will test and validate the performance of the software. This is a continuation of our relationship from our previous successful validation project together which finished during the fall of 2023. During that project, RISE validated the energy saving effect of our prototype, showing that it reduced search times in Elasticsearch by 47%, which led to a reduction in server energy consumption of 46%. Achieving similar results in the AI space means Vesiro could play a significant role in enabling more efficient AI solutions.

The rapid expansion of AI is transforming industries worldwide, but this explosive growth comes with significant challenges—particularly in terms of cost and energy consumption. The computational power required to train large models and manage vast datasets is straining global energy resources, leading to concerns about both sustainability and operational costs. There is a pressing need for innovative, efficient database solutions that can optimize the way data is stored, accessed, and processed in AI-driven environments. Techniques like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) show promise, but their full potential can only be realized with more efficient database solutions that support faster data search. By addressing these inefficiencies, we don’t only have the potential to reduce environmental impact but also unlock the full potential of AI in a more scalable and cost efficient way.
